I David Trujillo am a Los Angeles based designer. I come from a multi disciplinary background. This involves the intercrossing of illustration and graphic design practices. My interests of this interdisciplinary practice derives from skateboarding. To me skateboarding and design are similar. They both are about understanding your environment and working around obstacles. When you skate you look at an urban environment differently. Surfaces no longer have singular function. This is similar to how designers problem solve. Visual communication does not contain a singular function or format. Skateboarding can occur in a park, I prefer wandering on the street, searching for spots. Similarily graphic design is not only about the organization of content but also the development of content.
